What started over 70 years ago has now developed into a globally respected provider of exclusive prêt-à-porter. Almost 400 employees work for the company, 200 of them at the headquarters in Aachen. All Elégance fashion lines are developed by our own designers, working in our own studios. The formula for success is simple: opulent, stylish products, flawlessly crafted – that have undergone intensive quality testing.

Elégance established its first foreign subsidiary in France as long ago as 1954, followed by others in Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Granting licences for top-quality products is also building up the Elégance brand image in Asia.

The company has been affiliated to the PLC Arcandor since 1989, giving it the resources to generate continuous growth – and a highly streamlined distribution system, both in its mail-order operations and in its 70 shops throughout the world.
